It's been a month since Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr said "I do" in Mexico, but the couple was so happy I have not bothered to count the days.
"Last night's how it dawned on us," said Brittany at the Academy of Country Music.
The couple may have been late to recognize the milestone but made up on the red carpet of ACM, showing some serious PDA.
"People said it would not last more than a month that we're still going strong," Jason said.
The country music star went public about her relationship with former American Idol contestant in the CMT Awards in June 2014 and pledged in September the same year. Jason was married to his high school sweetheart, Jessica Ussery, for 11 years.
While Jason does not do much writing songs these days, he acknowledged that his new marriage inspires his work in other ways.
"When you're happy and everything is going well, obviously that is inspiration for many things, and for me it's about the kind of songs I recorded now," Jason said.
Currently involved in your Burn It Down tour, Jason hopes to return to the studio later this year to begin work on a new album.
